One of the most feared planets by the masses; but the person who understands its true worth, rises high in his/her life.
It’s an old saying that there is no shortcut to success and this particular planet is right there to make you realize this each and every day of our life.
Who Is Saturn?
Saturn, the Son of Surya and brother of Yama, is not bound to give us results just on the basis of where he is placed in our horoscope. He judges our actions (KARMA) and then rewards us. He doesn’t spare anyone from passing his judgment. From Lord Shiva, his creator, to every living being, everyone is under his scanner. He favors those who believe in actions.
It is observed that his sight creates a lot of obstacles / hurdles in our life and he is the only one who can make a person rise from Rags to Riches.
Representation
Saturn represents actions, obstacles, delays, profession but what it most importantly represents is Confirmation. As said above, if a person performs all his tasks dutifully, Saturn is surely going to reward him. He likes sincerity in work. He likes everything clean and transparent, and that is the reason his role in this KALIYUG is very daunting as we fail daily to perform our duties faithfully.
The reason we fear him is that, in our life, every day we commit mistakes or we may call it as bad karmas, knowingly or unknowingly which we don’t keep account for. But Saturn has it all accounted. So this planet in return slows our things or creates obstacles. Because of this we go under severe mental pressure. And that’s the game all about…. He doesn’t spoil our work; he just brings agony to our mind.
Good karmas bring Rewards and Bad Karmas bring Agony.
Not only karmas in this life, he has a record of our past live karmas also. On this net result things materialize and unfold in this life span. He will be keeping record for our next lives as well. Anything left undone has to be borne in the next birth.
Sade Sati
The transit of Saturn in One house before the natal Moon, In the sign of natal Moon and One sign after natal Moon is termed as SADE SATI which lasts for a period of 7.5 Years. The much feared SADE SATI of Saturn is hard but it is surely not consistently BAD. It’s the time when we are Punished, Taught and then finally Rewarded. The total time for a SADE SATI, 7.5 Years, is divided into equal periods of 2.5 Years. During this time we face maximum mental tensions, depressions & agony because Moon which represents our mind is heavily afflicted at this point of time. Saturn does not bring an end or obstacle to our life, but it is this time when our mind is affected and due to this we ourselves commit mistakes which add to our problems.
Dasha Cycle
Saturn has been given a time cycle, popularly known as Dasha Cycle of 19 Years. It is not fixed when this time cycle of Saturn will begin in a person’s horoscope. Some people are born under Saturn Dasha; some have it in the early stages of their life and some during the later parts of their life. Some people don’t even get this span of cycle in their entire life. In my opinion, it is good to have this cycle in our early stages of life. During our growing stages this Saturn shows us the practical part of the life. We can overcome obstacles/hurdles or delays in our early stages. During the mid-cycle when we our married and have children, hurdles at that time cause more problems and delays and can be frustrating. During our old age it creates hurdles and brings pain to body. By that time we must have accumulated so much of Karmic Backlog that now it’s the time for repayment. And this repayment can be very painful during the time when we are ourselves struggling with life.
So what we should see Saturn as, is an Old teacher, who wants to guide us and make us understand the values and principles of life. It will teach us consistently, so that we evolve and get better with each passing day.
